Technology for Industry Fellowships (TIF)

Scholarship Description

The TIF Programme enables students and experienced researchers to complete R&D projects in companies. TIF aims to: enhance scientific and technical skills and competencies in New Zealand businesses; expose undergraduates, masterate and doctorate students and post-doctoral researchers to an industrial environment; create research and technology of benefit for businesses; foster links between universities, research institutes and businesses. TIF supports science, technology and engineering projects conducted in, and managed by, companies. The Fellow must spend a minimum of 50% of his/her time on the project in the company. Stipends are offered to the value of $20,000 p.a. for Masters and $25,000 p.a. for PhD. For full details, including application procedures, please consult the scheme website.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is NZD25000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for research and living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 2 years if masters or 3 years if PhD.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Environmental engineering, Environmental sciences, Geology, Hydrology, Other earth sciences or Other engineering and technology.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in New Zealand for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Honours 2a or equivalent. There are no restrictions on citizenship.
