William and Kate Herschell Research Scholarship
Scholarship Description
APPLICATION CLOSED FOR 2008. DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED LATE 2008. The William and Kate Herschell Scholarships have been made possible by a bequest to the University from Gweneth Herschell to commemorate her parents, William and Kate Herschell. Gweneth was a music teacher and alumna of the former Faculty of Education, completing her Graduate Diploma in Music in 1934. She directed that her bequest to the University to be used for educational purposes. Applications are invited from students enrolled in, or enrolling for, a postgraduate research degree in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne. In 2008, the total value of the Scholarships will be approximately $30,000 per annum, for the duration of the student's candidature. The Scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who demonstrates the highest academic merit. The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly.
