Macquarie - International Postgraduate Research Scholarships

Scholarship Description
The main objectives of the IPRS program are to attract and enable top quality international postgraduate students to undertake a postgraduate research qualification in Australia and gain experience with leading Australian researchers in areas of research strength in Australian tertiary institutions, supporting Australia’s research effort. These awards cover tuition fees for a period of two years for a Masters by research degree or three years for a Doctorate by research degree, as well as health cover costs for scholarship holders, and their dependants. PhD applicants may be eligible to apply for a 6 month extension of award. Additionally, all successful IPRS applicants will receive a stipend only Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) which provides an annual living allowance of approximately AUD$22,250 (2010 value) for up to 3.5 years for a PhD program. Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. There are no restrictions on citizenship.
