National Library Summer Scholarships - Research To Benefit From Library’s Collections
Scholarship Description
The scheme is designed for PhD students undertaking research on topics that can be supported by the Library’s rich collections. Normally, four scholarships are awarded: •Three Norman McCann scholarships with preference for those working in the disciplines of Australian history and culture, Australian literature, librarianship, archives administration or museum studies. •One Seymour Scholarship with a preference for those undertaking biographical research. Scholars receive an honorarium of $300 per week plus twin share accommodation with breakfast included, at University House at the ANU for the six-week duration of the scholarship. A return economy class air fare from the scholarship holder's home within Australia will also be provided. Scholars have privileged access to the Library’s materials and facilities, as well as sustained interaction with many of its staff.

This scholarship is offered annually to an unspecified number of people. Open for applications until September 30, 2012.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD1800 (minimum per award). This award is to be used for accommodation, living expenses and travel. This scholarship is paid in Two (2) Payments.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Curatorial studies, Historical studies, HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY, LANGUAGE AND CULTURE, Librarianship or Literature studies.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia. You must be below the age of 30. Only citizens of Australia or AUS permanent resident can apply.
