Scholarship Description

The University of Canberra is allocated several Commonwealth funded Australian Postgraduate Awards each year to support postgraduate students of exceptional research promise whose field of study falls within the Universitys Areas of Research Strength. Applicants must have obtained First Class Honours or equivalent results, be enrolled full-time and be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or New Zealand citizen. An APA is payable as a tax-free (full-time study only) indexed stipend plus allowances for relocation, travel and thesis production. Australian Postgraduate Awards are available for the duration of the degree (ie 3 years for doctoral and 2 years for masters level study) provided the conditions of the award are met.

Availability

This scholarship is offered annually to 6 people. Open for applications from August 1, 2008 until October 31, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD20007 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 2 years if masters or 3 years if PhD.

It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 1, 2009 and no later than February 18, 2009.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply. You must have studied at or be currently studying at University of Canberra.
