Dorcas McClean Travelling Scholarship
Scholarship Description
To be used for advanced study, for a violinist under 25 years of age, resident in Australia for 2 years, & eligible for admission to a course of study in an approved institution and who gives an outstanding performance of a prescribed program. Competition is held at the Faculty once every two years (next in 2009) and judged by a panel of violinists. The final stages of the 2007 competition will take place at Melba Hall on Friday 14th & Sunday 16th September and will be open to the public. Previous winners of the scholarship are NOT eligible to apply. Applications should include: application form (see PDF or obtain from faculty), a summary of musical training & experience, an outline of the proposed study program, an entrance fee of $25 & a recorded CD (authenticity verified by the candidate's teacher or employer). The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (total amount). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid as a one off for the period of 2 years.
