Scholarship Description

The British School at Athens offers Studentships for advanced doctoral research in any aspect of the anthropology, archaeology, archaeometry, architecture, art, environment, geography, history, language, literature, religion and topography of Greece in all periods to modern times. Subject to available funding, and quality of applications, awards for shorter term residence at the School and/or travel grants may be given. Applications are open to British, Irish or Commonwealth students or, in exceptional circumstances, EU students engaged in advanced postgraduate research at UK universities. Applicants should submit a cv and research proposal (maximum 1,000 words). Two references will be required. Applicants should ask referees to write directly to the Secretary by the deadline. Applicants should be prepared to attend an interview in London in May. Please see website for full details. Applications due 1 April annually. 2007 applications closed, 2008 details to be confirmed.
