CRiCS PhD Scholarship in Manufacturing, Simulation and Logistics
A PhD scholarship is available for an engineering or computer science student to work closely with an industrial partner in the food manufacturing industry. The industry takes in raw vegetables and rough cut meats and fish and creates frozen and canned products and complete meals in various forms. The possible project areas available include: * simulation of manufacturing processes to find ways to reduce energy costs; * development of computer vision or other sensor systems for monitoring machinery and production lines; * use of data mining and predictive modelling to determine optimal maintenance schedules for machinery; The scholarship would be available immediately, but is expected to be filled by the end of 2012.

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from August 10, 2012 until November 30, 2012.
The value of this scholarship is AUD23728 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Manufacturing engineering. It is required that your study starts no earlier than September 1, 2012 and no later than February 1, 2013.
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
