MQ Biological Science - Quantitative reconstructions of Australian climates since last Interglacial
A PhD Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship is available in the Dept Biological Sciences. The following projects may be available: Palaeo-precipitation reconstructs using forward modelling: to reconstruct precipitation changes using a data assimilation approach. Pollen-based climate reconstructions using modern analogue techniques: to reconstruct bioclimatic variables from Australian pollen records covering the past 21,000 years. Reconstructing climate changes through Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles: to reconstruct bioclimatic variables from pollen records through the last glacial period. Contact Prof Sandy Harrison with enquiries. The value of this scholarship is AUD23728 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, Biotechnology, Botany, Ecology and evolution, Genetics, Hydrology or Microbiology.
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
