MQ Earth Sciences: Flow characteristics of lower crustal rocks - Xenoliths
A full time PhD Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) associated with ARC Future Fellowship FT110100070 is available in Dept of Earth & Planetary Sciences. This project aims to improve knowledge of the flow behaviour, or "rheology" of rocks, which controls large scale processes, such as plate tectonics and mountain building. Perform detailed analysis of lower crustal xenoliths and uniaxial deformation experiments using samples from the field and analogue materials such as ice. The value of this scholarship is AUD23728 (per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.
