MQ Earth Sciences: Lower crustal rocks - field studies & numerical modelling
A full time PhD Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) associated with ARC Future Fellowship FT110100070 is available in Dept of Earth and Planetary Sciences. This project aims to improve knowledge of the flow behaviour, or "rheology" of rocks, which controls large scale processes, such as plate tectonics and mountain building. Perform field studies in Fiordland NZ, analyse the rocks and geometric relationships and implement results into numerical modelling system ELLE. Please direct enquiries to Sandra Piazolo after referring to the ad at http://www.hdr.mq.edu.au/information_about/scholarships/hdr_scholarships_domestic_and_international for more information . Refer to http://www.hdr.mq.edu.au/information_about/applications for application instructions and quote allocation reference number 2012082 on your application.
