Scholarship Description
The awards are open to applicants who qualify for entry to a Masters by Research or PhD degree at Charles Darwin University (CDU). CDU offers Australian Postgraduate Awards which are solely merit based and are available to Australian citizens only (or, in certain circumstances, permanent residents). Research at CDU is designed to take advantage of our unique demographic profile and geographic location. We focus on the people, societies, cultures, economies, institutions and environments of tropical Australia and South East Asia, and the Australian desert. The research strengths of CDU are in: Natural and Cultural Resource Management; Human Health and Well-being; Teaching, Learning and Living; Community, Development and Identity.

Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD22500 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BEHAVIOURAL AND COGNITIVE SCIENCES, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, CHEMICAL SCIENCES, COMMERCE, MANAGEMENT, TOURISM AND SERVICES, EARTH SCIENCES, ECONOMICS, EDUCATION, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, Environmental sciences, HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY, Horticulture, INFORMATION, COMPUTING AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES, Land, parks and agriculture management, LANGUAGE AND CULTURE, LAW, JUSTICE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT, MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES, PHYSICAL SCIENCES, POLICY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL, Soil and water sciences, STUDIES IN HUMAN SOCIETY or THE ARTS. It is required that your study starts no later than March 31, 2011.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply. You must have studied at or be currently studying at Charles Darwin University.
