Scholarship Description
This award is 1 of 4 privately sponsored Awards for applicants who wish to engage in research relevant to an Australian higher degree or undertake an approved course of study for a US higher degree or its equivalent. Applicants are required to give a detailed statement of their purpose in visiting the US, to indicate how the proposed visit will further their professional development & contribute to fostering improved understanding between the peoples of the 2 countries. Applications must be supported by 3 referee reports, commenting on the applicants academic/professional qualifications, character, adaptability & the significance & feasibility of his/her proposal. Applications 1st considered by the State Selection Committees which short-list & interview candidates (late Sept/early Oct each year - applicants must be available at this time to be eligible for further consideration). This scholarship has closed for 2008. 2009 details will be updated later in the year.

Availability
This scholarship is offered annually to one person. Open for applications from June 1, 2007 until August 31, 2007.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is USD2100 (maximum per month). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid monthly for the period of 1 year.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY or SCIENCE - GENERAL. It is required that your study starts no earlier than July 1, 2008 and no later than June 30, 2009.

This scholarship is for study in U.S.A.. Only citizens of Australia may apply.
