International Postgraduate Research Scholarships and Scholarships for International Research Fees

Scholarship Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified international students for scholarships to undertake the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master by Research at The University of Western Australia. The Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) are funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and the Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRFS) are funded by The University of Western Australia. Both of these scholarships cover tuition fees and health insurance premiums only. (The University also provides a University Postgraduate Award International Students (UPAIS) living allowance scholarship of $A20,427 per annum (in 2009) for successful applicants and an allowance for thesis production costs). Travel and relocation costs are the responsibility of the applicant.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: AGRICULTURAL, VETERINARY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, ARCHITECTURE, URBAN ENVIRONMENT AND BUILDING, BEHAVIOURAL AND COGNITIVE SCIENCES, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, CHEMICAL SCIENCES, COMMERCE, MANAGEMENT, TOURISM AND SERVICES, EARTH SCIENCES, ECONOMICS, EDUCATION, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY, INFORMATION, COMPUTING AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES, LANGUAGE AND CULTURE, LAW, JUSTICE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT, MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES, MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES, PHYSICAL SCIENCES, POLICY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE, SCIENCE - GENERAL, SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL or STUDIES IN HUMAN SOCIETY. It is required that your study starts no later than March 31, 2010.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of countries except Australia and N.Z. may apply.
