Scholarship Description

Are you interested in the concept of education for social sustainability (EfSS) particularly as it relates to Indigenous Australia, rural Ghana or PNG sub-population groups? If so, there is an opportunity for you to win a PhD scholarship and make a real difference by being part of an exciting EfSS research network located across The Cairns Institute/School of Education and several other collaborating researcher. The research interests and expertise within the network include community development, empowerment, participatory action research, wellbeing, student mobility, equity and participation, school health promotion, mindfulness, climate change adaptation and economic evaluation of complex health and education programs. Within this broad framework you will have the flexibility to align your PhD topic to one or more of these research sub-themes. This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from September 9, 2010 until October 31, 2010.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD22500 (per annum). This award is to be used for research and living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: EDUCATION. It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 1, 2011 and no later than June 30, 2011.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
