Scholarship Description

A Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) is available for joint supervision in the Depts of Anthropology, Centre for Research on Social Inclusion and Demography to work on a project developing a demographic and social profile of South Asian communities in Sydney since the 1960s. Work with a team of academics and a community sector organisation SEVA (Social Entrepreneurial Ventures of Australian South Asians) to help identify long term social trends and pressing social issues in areas such as family, health, education, and employment. Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD22500 (per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Anthropology, Applied economics, Cultural studies, Demography, Economic history and history of economic thought, Human geography, Sociology or STUDIES IN HUMAN SOCIETY. It is required that your study starts no later than December 30, 2010.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or AUS permanent resident can apply.
