Peter Cullen Water Management Scholarship
Scholarship Description
The NSW Government has developed a postgraduate scholarship in honour of the late Professor Peter Cullen AO FTSE. Professor Cullen contributed significantly to a new ways of managing water resources in Australia and NSW. The program is jointly funded by various New South Wales Government Water Agencies, including the NSW Office of Water, Sydney Catchment Authority, State Water, Hunter Water Corporation and Sydney Water Corporation. The aim of the scholarship is to: • improve our understanding of how rivers, groundwater, wetlands and estuaries function and respond to enhanced management • improve the linkages between aquatic science and water management in NSW • provide research opportunities in NSW for water specialists. A three year scholarship of up to $20,000 p.a. will be awarded to first year PhD students. Funds totalling $60,000 will be available to the successful student over a three year period.

The value of this scholarship is AUD20000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for research and living expenses. This scholarship is paid See Scheme Summary for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: AGRICULTURAL, VETERINARY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, CHEMICAL SCIENCES, MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES or PHYSICAL SCIENCES.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Masters or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia may apply.
