Scholarship Description

A Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) is available in the Department of Modern History, Politics and International Relations associated with ARC Discovery Project 0987939. This project charts the history of electioneering in Australia from the first democratic ballot to the most recent poll. It focuses on changes in campaign techniques and tactics; the parties’ pitch to electors; and how elections have been understood by journalists, social scientists and others. Additional funding may be available for a suitable candidate. Candidates must be available to start in early 2011. The value of this scholarship is AUD22860 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.
