Scholarship Supplement

Scholarship Description

A PhD supplementary scholarship is available for a student to commence a doctoral project in mathematical biology. The project aims to use mathematical and computational models to understanding how bacterial genomes evolve. This project, based at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), is a collaboration between Dr Mark Tanaka and A/Prof Ruiting Lan at UNSW and A/Prof Andrew Francis at the University of Western Sydney, funded by the Australian Research Council. We seek a student with a strong background in quantitative sciences such as mathematics, statistics, computing, physics or engineering, and a strong interest in biology. We offer the tax exempt scholarship of $5000 per year for up to 3 years, to supplement an Australian Postgraduate Award or equivalent funding. Australian and New Zealand citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply.
