Scholarship Description

A Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) is available in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences for a PhD candidate to conduct fieldwork and detailed volcanological study on the deposits at Yasur Volcano on Tanna Island, Vanuatu. The data will provide deeper understanding of the evolution of explosive volcanoes and yield information for future hazard forecasting. Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD22500 (per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: EARTH SCIENCES, Geochemistry, Geology, Geophysics or Other earth sciences.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or AUS permanent resident can apply.
