Scholarship Description

Griffith University’s Tony Fitzgerald Scholarship will support a PhD that reflects the Fitzgerald ethos — to keep Parliament in its rightful place at the centre of the democratic system, but with the law, community and media actively involved in keeping the system honest and open. Graduates from criminology, journalism, law, political science and public administration are encouraged to apply for this three-year PhD research project. Awardees will receive $30,000 per annum tax-free for three years.

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications until June 30, 2010.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Journalism, communication and media, Justice and legal studies, Law or Political science.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or AUS permanent resident can apply.
