Crimsafe Research Scholarship
Scholarship Description
A post-graduate scholarship is available in the School of Engineering & Information Technology at UNSW@ADFA in Canberra for a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. The scholarship has a generous stipend funded by Crimsafe Pty. Ltd., is for research into the mechanics of security screens, and should be challenging for engineering graduates interested in solid and structural mechanics. The research will involve both analytical and experimental investigations. The School has an expanding impact test facility, an excellent workshop and makes extensive use of CATIA® in design. It is the policy of the School that students should, as far as possible, design and manufacture experimental apparatus and test specimens themselves and would therefore favour applicants who see that as a positive challenge. Appropriate training is of course provided. Applicants should have a First Class Honours Degree in an appropriate branch of engineering and experience in finite element modelling and analysis.
