AutoCRC PhD Scholarship in Human Factors


Scholarship Description

Crashes at level crossings remain an intractable problem. In-vehicle and vehicle-to-vehicle systems offer great potential to reduce the incidence and severity of these crashes. There is still much research that needs to explore fundamental issues, well researched in domains such as aviation and relating the device functionality and basics of when to present a warning and how to present it. Eligibility: Honours Bachelor degree in relevant field: psychology, mechanical/systems engineering, human factors, or a related field, plus research experience. Projects costs up to $5000 will also be paid.

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from January 6, 2010 until March 19, 2010.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD28000 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Psychology. It is required that your study starts no earlier than May 1, 2010.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Honours 2a or equivalent. There are no restrictions on citizenship.
