APAI Scholarship

Scholarship Description

Seven APAI scholarships are available to undertake research leading to PhD in the School of Materials Science and Engineering (http://www.materials.unsw.edu.au/) for projects in particulate or multiphase flow and modelling. The work is focused on fluid mechanics and heat transfer in mineral/metallurgical processes. The scholarships are mainly applicable to Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident who has lived in Australia for the past 12 months. However, overseas students who have outstanding academic records and can win tuition fee waiver scholarship at UNSW are also eligible (please see website: http://www.grs.unsw.edu.au/homepage.html for further information). Students with a bachelor (with honours) or master degree in a relevant discipline (chemical/metallurgical/material/mechanical engineering) are encouraged to apply. The top-up scholarship depends on candidate’s experience and achievement.

Availability

This scholarship is offered once only to 7 people. Open for applications from December 1, 2009 until October 31, 2010.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD26669 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid annually for the period of 3 and a half years.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY. It is required that your study starts no earlier than February 0, 2010 and no later than July 31, 2013.

Eligibility

This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Honours 2a or equivalent.
