Scholarship Description

The Minerals and Energy Research Institute of Western Australia (MERIWA) awards one or more supplementary or ad hoc scholarships each year to PhD students receiving APRAs, URSs, or equiv., to encourage more students to become involved in Minerals and Petroleum research. The value of the scholarships is $5,000 per year as a stipend for educational purposes and up to $5,000 per year for project maintenance. Scholarships may be 1, 2 or 3 years duration. Students who have or expect to receive APRAs or URSs, including those already engaged in a research programme, are eligible to apply for the awards. Scholarships will only be available to students involved in research appropriate to the fields of interest of MERIWA: minerals exploration, minerals processing, petroleum exploration, mining or petroleum engineering or rehabilitation allied to the minerals or petroleum industries.

The value of this scholarship is AUD10000 (per annum). This award is to be used for research and living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly.
