Yarra River Estuary Water Studies PhD Scholarship


Scholarship Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake a PhD within the Water Studies Centre, Monash University, Clayton campus. This PhD project will be part of an Australian Research Council funded project to investigate the role of river flow on carbon and nutrient cycling within the Yarra River Estuary which is being undertaken in collaboration with 2 interstate universities, the Victorian EP and Melbourne Water. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with an honours degree in either: chemistry, environmental chemistry, aquatic science, biology, geochemistry, or microbial ecology. The ideal candidate would also have high grades in practical classes, and strong experience in analytical chemistry. The project is well supported by technical staff, access to excellent facilities and academic expertise. Please refer to PDF for more information.

Availability

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from July 1, 2009 until July 31, 2009.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD25427 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
