Melbourne University PhD in Urban Ecology - Ecosystem Services from Large Urban Green Spaces


Scholarship Description

We are looking for a highly-motivated graduate student with a strong academic record. You should enjoy independent and multi-disciplinary research that takes you into the field and laboratory. You should have interests in environmental science, urban ecosystems, biodiversity and soil-plant-animal interactions. The project will establish a network of research sites at golf courses to provide a range of ages and management intensities: from conserved remnant woodland to passively managed grassland to mown-fertilised-irrigated turf. The relationship between management, biodiversity and carbon status will be investigated at a range of trophic levels. See attachment for details.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ARCHITECTURE, URBAN ENVIRONMENT AND BUILDING or BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES. It is required that your study starts no later than July 1, 2011.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, Honours 2a or equivalent, or Masters or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia may apply.
