Scholarship Description

The Australian Pain Society (APS) is a multidisciplinary society whose charter is to improve the education, research & development, diagnosis & treatment of all forms of pain. The Australian Pain Relief Association (APRA) is a registered charity that works closely with the APS to support research & education. APR sponsorship is to enable full-time research leading to a PhD at any recognised Australian university. The applicant & his/her supervisor must be an Aust Citizen/permanent resident & member of the APS. The funded project can relate to any aspect of the mechanisms, diagnosis or treatment of acute or chronic pain. It is expected that the successful candidate will come from one of the disciplines represented in the APS Membership incl. various medical specialties, dentistry, psychology, nursing, pharmacy or pharmacology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy & the various basic sciences. This scholarship has closed for 2008. 2009 details will be updated later in the year.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD23000 (per annum). This award is to be used for research and living expenses. This scholarship is paid annually for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES, Psychology or SCIENCE - GENERAL.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply.
