Faculty of Education, Humanities, Law and Theology Top-Up Scholarship
Scholarship Description
The Faculty of Education, Humanities, Law and Theology is offering two Top-Up Scholarships to research higher degree candidates undertaking a research project in an area of current research activity in the Faculty. These scholarships will be available to students who will commence a PhD or Masters degree in the Faculty of EHLT in 2010 and have received an Australian Postgraduate Award or equivalent University Scholarship.The EHLT Top-Up Scholarship will provide an additional stipend of $7,000 in the first year and $5,000 in the second and third years. In addition, recipients will receive: support for conference attendance; loan of a laptop computer for the duration of candidature; a place in the University’s Academic Internship Program; opportunities for part-time teaching in an area related to their research, or employment as a research assistant, in the second and third years of candidacy.

Availability
This scholarship is offered once only to 2 people. Open for applications from October 1, 2009 until October 31, 2009.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD5000 (minimum per annum). This award is to be used for research and living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: EDUCATION, Law, Religion and religious traditions or SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL. It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 1, 2010 and no later than March 31, 2010.
Eligibility
This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia may apply.
