Scholarship Description

Study project: The effect of water chlorination disinfection byproducts in wastewater effluent on the aquatic environment. Aim: To determine the likely ecological risk of the release of wastewaters containing a range of DBPs. This project would suit PhD candidates with class 1 or 2A honours or equivalent and a background in the chemical and/or biological sciences, especially organic chemistry, aquatic ecology and ecotoxicology. You would have the opportunity for involvement in regular seminars; regular short courses; interacting with international scientists; a mentoring program; and competitive funds for attending conferences and overseas laboratories. The value of this scholarship is AUD26140 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
