J. L. William PhD Scholarship

Scholarship Description
Applications are invited for the prestigious J L William Scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies within the School of Physics, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia leading to a PhD. The Scholarships, are available to citizens and permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand. Exceptional applicants from other countries may also apply, in which case a fee waiver scholarship will be part of the award. The J. L. William Scolarships provide a yearly non-taxable stipend of $A28,000 for 3 years. Outstanding students who have completed, or expect to complete, a four year undergraduate degree at H1 level are encouraged to apply. Availability
This scholarship is offered annually to 2 people. Open for applications from August 25, 2008 until October 24, 2008.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD28000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid monthly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Astronomical sciences, Atomic & molecular phys; nuclear & particle phys;plasma phys, Classical physics, Optical physics or Theoretical and condensed matter physics. It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 5, 2009.
Eligibility
This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. You must be between the age of 18 and 50.
