PhD Scholarship in MicroRNAs

Scholarship Description

MicroRNAs play key roles in the development of an organism and its interactions with the environment by controlling the activity of many genes. We have used bioinformatics tools to predict over 200 MicroRNAs from Medicago truncatula (see In Silico Biology 7, 2007:0034 for details) including the ones that target key transcription factors. The project intends to elucidate the function of potential 'master' regulators using expression studies and genetics tools.
