Maths & Science Graduate Scholar

Scholarship Description

This Scholarship seeks to attract graduates with studies in mathematics or the sciences to teaching. 50 scholarships of $5,000 are available for recipients to commence a graduate entry teaching course in 2009. Further grants are available to recipients who go on to secondary teaching in Victorian government schools. Scholarship holders will be expected to remain enrolled at a Victorian university on and must successfully complete the approved course within the specified time frame. Graduates interested in applying for the Scholarship are encouraged to review all information & documents on the scheme website. The closing date for applications is October 6, 2008.

Availability

This scholarship is offered once only to 50 people. Open for applications from July 26, 2008 until October 6, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD5000 (minimum per award). This award is to be used for miscellaneous purposes. This scholarship is paid as a one off for the period of 1 year.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, CHEMICAL SCIENCES, EARTH SCIENCES, EDUCATION, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES, PHYSICAL SCIENCES or SCIENCE - GENERAL.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia. To apply you must be a Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or student from a remote/rural area. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply.
