Australian Postgraduate Research Award (Industry) in Ultra Sensitive Photonic Hydrophones


Scholarship Description

This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant awarded to Profs. John Canning and Simon Fleming and will provide support for up to 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project leading to a PhD. The objective of the research project is to explore new DFB fibre laser configurations for eventual implementation as acoustic sensor heads in distributed fibre arrays. Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in Physical Chemistry, Physics or Photonics Engineering. Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD25627 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of up to 3 and a half years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: CHEMICAL SCIENCES or Physical chemistry (incl. structural).

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 (Semester 1), or Honours 2a or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
