ARC Linkage PhD Scholarship

Scholarship Description

An APAI scholarship is available for full-time PhD study in the field of Financial Markets and Fund Management at Monash University. The scholarship is offered through an ARC Linkage grant "An Empirical Examination of Non-Market Capitalisation Weighted Indices in Australia". This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate to undertake full-time applied research in cooperation with the Accounting & Finance Dept at Monash and the Victorian Funds Management Corporation. The project will focus on recent innovations in funds management, specifically on alternatives to market-capitalisation-based indexation. The successful candidte will work under supervision of a team of academics and practioners from both institutions: one day a week at VFMC and four days at Monash. Research field: Financial markets and fund management.

Availability

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from July 1, 2008 until July 28, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD26000 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Banking, finance and investment or ECONOMICS. It is required that your study starts no earlier than September 1, 2008.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Honours 2a or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
