Postgraduate Scholarship in Chinese Medicinal Products in Diabetes


Scholarship Description

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good honours degree in pharmacy, science or health science to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Pharmacy (Chinese Medicine). The project is to investigate the safety and efficacy of selected Chinese medicines (TCM) in the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes. Applicants should have a particular interest in the mechanisms of action of Chinese medicines and their interacting components in type 2 diabetes both in vitro and in whole tissues and organelles. The scholarship is valued at $25, 872 pa(tax exempt) for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress. Further information can be obtained from Professor Basil Roufogalis. Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD25872 (per annum). This award is to be used for research. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years, reviewed annually.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Complementary/alternative medicine, MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES or Pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
