AMSI Industry Internship Program

Scholarship Description

AMSI offers its industry partners the opportunity to use the mathematical and statistical skills of an intern and an academic mentor to address a research problem relevant to the industry partner. It is expected the intern will spend half their time working on site with the industry partner and half time at the AMSI member university undertaking a predefined project over three to five months. Industry Partner contribution will be: $ 9,000 for a 3-month project; $12,000 for a 4-month project; $15,000 for a 5-month project. Academic mentors can receive up to $5000 (including GST) per internship.

Availability

This scholarship is offered on an ongoing basis to 5 people. Open for applications from December 1, 2008 until June 30, 2009.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD3000 (maximum per month). This award is to be used for living expenses and miscellaneous purposes. This scholarship is paid monthly for the period of 3 months.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES. It is required that your study starts no earlier than December 1, 2008 and no later than June 30, 2009.

Eligibility

Only citizens of Australia or NZ living in Aust over 1 year or permanent resident over 1 yearpermanent residents can apply.
