PhD Scholarship in Spintronics


Scholarship Description

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for an enthusiastic candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in spintronics. The project is to investigate the microscopic origin of the observed properties in spintronics materials by using advanced microscopy and microanalysis. The applicant should have an Honours 1 or 2A or equivalent degree in science or engineering. Experience in microscopy and microanalysis would be an advantage. The Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. International students can apply but the scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by international students. The scholarship is valued at $26,000 per annum (tax exempt) and may be renewed for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress. Availability

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from May 10, 2008 until August 31, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD26000 (minimum per annum). This award is to be used for research. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years, reviewed annually.
