Scholarship Description

For the purpose of encouraging postgraduate research at Victoria University of Wellington, the University offers scholarships to students. Applicants would normally be expected to have completed a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree Part 1 demonstrating academic achievement equivalent to a First-Class Honours degree from a New Zealand University, about to commence a full-time, research-focussed Master’s degree. Only those students enrolled solely for a thesis of 90 points or above are eligible to apply.

Availability

This scholarship is offered annually to 30 people. Open for applications from August 1, 2008 until November 1, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is NZD15000 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid monthly for the period of 1 year.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ARCHITECTURE, URBAN ENVIRONMENT AND BUILDING, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, CHEMICAL SCIENCES, COMMERCE, MANAGEMENT, TOURISM AND SERVICES, EARTH SCIENCES, ECONOMICS, EDUCATION, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, INFORMATION, COMPUTING AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES, MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES, PHYSICAL SCIENCES, POLICY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE, SCIENCE - GENERAL, SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL or STUDIES IN HUMAN SOCIETY. It is required that your study starts no earlier than March 1, 2009 and no later than December 31, 2009.
