The Michael Kieran Harvey Scholarship
Scholarship Description
The Michael Kieran Harvey Scholarship was created by Susan Mary Remington to commemorate the life and work of pianist Michael Kieran Harvey, in doing so, provide funds to a postgraduate music student to travel overseas for specific purposes to further enhance their music career. The Scholarship is awarded to the pianist who has fulfilled the required conditions. The successful Applicant will be judged to have displayed outstanding ability and promise in piano, and who, in the opinion of the judge(s) will benefit greatly from this two year Scholarship. Ideally, as well as assumed technical mastery, the successful Applicant will display originality, imagination, creativity and a history and future desire of pursuing directions relevant to the piano and music, in the 21st century. The value of the Scholarship for 2008 is $20,000 paid in two equal instalments of $10,000 over two years. This scholarship is closed. 2009 details will be updated later in the year.
