MQRES Social Inclusion PhD Scholarship
Scholarship Description
Two PhD scholarships are available at Centre for Research on Social Inclusion (CRSI) for projects on social, cultural, economic and political determinations of inclusion and exclusion, exploring issues such as race, ethnicity, class, gender, age, place, and globalisation from disciplinary and methodological perspectives. CRSI is an interdisciplinary group of researchers from disciplines such as Anthropology, Sociology, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, and Human Geography. There are five areas of special research strength: Migration, Multiculturalism and Nation, Critical Theory and Social Hope, Welfare, Care and Social Policy, The Postcolonial World and Globalisation and Inclusion and Exclusion in Urban and Regional Spaces. This scholarship is available to domestic or international students. Applicants should have an Australian undergraduate degree with first class honours (or Masters degree with thesis). International awardees will receive tuition fees for the scholarship tenure.

This scholarship is offered once only to 2 people. Open for applications until April 30, 2008.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD20007 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Anthropology, Cultural studies, Demography, History and philosophy of science and medicine, Human geography, Other studies in human society, Philosophy, SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL, Social work, Sociology or STUDIES IN HUMAN SOCIETY.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. There are no restrictions on citizenship.
