MQRES Ecologocal Disturbances PhD Scholarship
Scholarship Description
A PhD scholarship is available in Department of Biological Sciences at Macquarie University investigating the consequences of physical disturbances on ecological communities (storms, floods, cyclones, tsunamis). The project should include fieldwork and theoretical components, and mathematical and computer programming skills are desirable. The focus is on ecological changes in coral reef systems following hydrodynamic disturbances (cyclones), and uses predictive models to forecast changes in future environments. The candidate is not limited to working within coral reef systems, but is encouraged to address similar questions in coral reefs and/or other ecological systems. MQRES scholarships are available to Australian or international students. Applicants should have an Australian first class honours degree (or Masters with research) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Biological or Environmental Sciences). International awardees will receive tuition fees for the scholarship tenure.
