PhD Scholarship - Mechanical Eng
Scholarship Description
The aim of the project is to improve creep resistance of the thermoplastic surface by developing novel nanostructured thermoplastic film filled with nanoscale fillers that show promise in improving required properties without adverse affects on other properties. The work will focus on (1) processing of nano-thermoplastic-film; (2) characterisation of structure-property relationship and (3) fundamentally understanding the links between microstructure-processing condition and microstructure-property. The School of Engineering will provide a scholarship for an outstanding PhD candidate to work in the project. The scholarship is equivalent to an APA award. International student fees can be waived for excellent international student under certain circumstances. Graduates from Aerospace/Mechanical/Materials engineering with background in finite element analysis, polymer processing/characterisation and good experimental skills are encouraged to apply. Please include CV & academic references.
