PhD Scholarship - Molecular Dynamics
Scholarship Description
PhD with Molecular Dynamics group of Prof Alan Mark. The Group focuses on understanding and predicting the properties of biomolecular systems (proteins, nucleic acids and lipids) in terms of the interactions between atoms. It develops tools to understand dynamic processes within biomolecular systems. Potential projects include but are not limited to: The simulation of protein and peptide folding; The simulation of lipid or surfactant aggregates and membrane-protein interactions; The prediction of thermodynamic and structural properties of proteins, peptides and other systems; Force field development. Applicants should possess a BSc Honours in biochemistry/physical chemistry/physics or a related discipline. The primary requirements for consideration are a desire to work in computational sciences at the interface between biology, physics and chemistry and a demonstrated ability to conduct high quality research.
