PhD Scholarship in Finance
Scholarship Description
An APAI scholarship is available to undertake research leading to a PhD in finance. It will provide an annual stipend of $31,627 pa for 3 years. Applicants should have an Honours degree (at least 2/1 standard or equivalent) or a master degree in finance, economics, or a relevant discipline. Preference will be given to applicants with some experience in financial markets and strong programming skills (particularly in Gauss or SAS). The research is in collaboration with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). The scholar recipient will have the opportunity to work at CBA’s FX and commodity trading desks and gain first-hand knowledge about financial markets and institutions. The project undertaken will provide training in financial market microstructure and time-series econometric modeling.

Availability
This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from November 1, 2007 until March 28, 2008.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD31000 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid monthly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ECONOMICS. It is required that your study starts no earlier than March 1, 2008 and no later than March 1, 2011.
