John Carter Brown Library Short-Term Research Fellowships

Scholarship Description

The Short-Term Fellowships are for 2-4 months and are open to foreign scholars, graduate students, and independent researchers, as well as to US-based academics at any level. The Fellowships are reserved for scholars and writers whose work considers the early history of the Americas, including all aspects of the European, African, and Native American experience. The Library contains one of the worlds most premier collections of primary materials related to the discovery, exploration and settlement of the New World prior to 1825, including books, maps, newspapers, and other printed objects. The main criteria for appointment are the merit and significance of the candidates proposal, the qualifications of the candidate, and the relevance of the project to the holdings of the Library. The scholarship is closed. Next round will be advised in due course.
