Scholarship Description
A three years PhD scholarship, valued at up to $30,000* per annum tax-exempt, will be offered for research on designing environmental policy instruments at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney. This project is part of the new Environmental Economics Research Hub funded by Commonwealth Environment Research Facilities (CERF), with research partners at the Australian National University and Central University of Queensland. The research will be in the area of Climate Change and Emissions Trading using experimental economics as a methodology. Allocation of permits such as auction design might be a focus of the research. Selection of successful candidates will be based on academic merit and demonstrated research potential. Suitable applicants will have at least a 4 year degree with a minimum honours 2,1 or equivalent in economics. This scholarship is open to Australian and international students. The candidate will be enrolled full time in the School of Economics at UNSW.

Availability
This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from October 22, 2007 until November 30, 2007.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years, reviewed annually.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ECONOMICS. It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 1, 2008 and no later than December 31, 2010.
Eligibility
This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 2a or equivalent.
