HASSELL PhD Scholarship


Scholarship Description

The project will study the design theories and beliefs developed and employed by HASSELL during its seminal phases within the context of international design theory and practice. Indicative research will include the development of an overview of the firm’s history with reference to the identity and influence of key contributors to its design and practice philosophy, assessment of the influences of modernist and international design trends on HASSELL, and evaluation of the effect, if any, of the firm on the introduction and dissemination of modernism, especially in Australia.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD26140 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
