Scholarship Description

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably-qualified candidate with a good Honours degree to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in biomedical sciences. The project is to investigate the systematics and biogeography of the Aedes mosquitoes using morphological and molecular data. The genus contains medically significant vectors of human disease.

This scholarship is offered dependent on funds to one person. Open for applications from September 15, 2007 until March 31, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD99000 (maximum per award). This award is to be used for research and fees. This scholarship is paid as a one off for the period of 3 years, reviewed annually.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, Ecology and evolution or Genetics. It is required that your study starts no earlier than February 1, 2008 and no later than December 30, 2010.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, Honours 2a or equivalent, or Masters or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply.
