Scholarship Description

Fellowships offered through the Freezailah Fellowship Fund to promote human resource development & to strengthen professional expertise in member countries in tropical forestry & related disciplines. The goal is to promote the sustainable management of tropical forests, the efficient use & processing of tropical timber, & better economic information about the international trade in tropical timber. The fellowship program enables young & mid-career people to pursue professional development & improve career prospects. The program supports mainly short-term activities, such as participation in international conferences, training courses, & study tours, but also helps people to prepare manuals & monographs & provides small grants for post-graduate study. FELLOWSHIPS ARE AWARDED MAINLY TO NATIONALS OF DEVELOPING MEMBER COUNTRIES.

This scholarship is offered bi-annually to 60 people. Open for applications until September 3, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is USD10000 (maximum per award). This award is to be used for research and travel. This scholarship is paid as a one off.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Forestry sciences or Land, parks and agriculture management. It is required that your study starts no earlier than August 1, 2008.
